So you’ve been handed a form for Getaway Camp and would like to know more about what your child will be doing?
We have a fun packed week planned for your child full of games and activities under the supervision of specially trained leaders. Campers will be put into teams where they will have a friendly, points based competition throughout the week, where they can earn points for completing activities, good manners, helping others, keeping their rooms tidy and many more things.
At Camp Elim your child’s safety is a high priority for us and we take measures to provide a safe campground while still being able to have fun.
Activities include the Adventure Tower, Giant Swing, Archery, Canoeing, Raft making, Team Building, and many more fun things. Depending on the weather, we will also be going to the beach or a giant sand dune to slide down. Throughout the week there are also many other games and activities, including crafts and a movie night (movie will be a family friendly movie rated at either G or PG at most – if you have any concerns then please don’t hesitate to call us).
In the mornings throughout the week we will also run ‘Life Tools Sessions’, which will provide the kids with important life tools to help deal with issues in life (such as self-esteem, bullying, anger, etc.) The topics for these sessions are Choices, Pressure, Revenge & Forgiveness, Identity and Personal Growth. We believe that the Bible contains great morals and examples for everyday living, so we have based the life tools around stories and examples contained in the Bible to help deal with these life issues.
Throughout the week we have a specially trained team of leaders to not only supervise, but also come alongside and encourage your child throughout the week so that they can have the best week possible. The team of leaders have gone through our internal leadership and child safety training program so they can provide a fun and safe camp for your child.
